The Toe Thumb.

The thumb on my left hand looks like my Mother's and is "normal."

On my right hand it looks as if a baby's toe was amputated, and reattached where my thumb should be . It is my Dad's thumb, which in turn he inherited from his Grandmother. As for who gave her the thumb, history has left us with a dead end. I gave this thumb to my son, to continue the tradition, yes L. you're welcome.

The fact that I had been born with two different thumbs was deemed so impressive, that my Biology teacher in high school actually wanted to write a paper about it, and submit it to a medical journal.

When on the RARE occasion I get my nails done, the tech always looks at my right thumb like oooo yikes that must have hurt, she must have slammed it in a car door. Then they look up and give me the sympathy smile.

It is ugly.

But it's MY toe thumb.

My big toe thumb is also responsible for my insanely misspelled texts. Sorry but that thumb has more area to it and constantly hits the letters around it. And I have grown tired of retyping messages.

It is toe thumb text. A new text language if you will. If you text me enough, you will eventually learn it.

I just added another skill to your resume, BOOM, you're welcome.

Xoxo,

C.
