The Sacrifice.

We all sacrifice stuff.

Our emotions.

Our looks.

Our wants.

Our needs.

But for some odd reason today I saw an ecological sacrifice.

I grew up seeing the tree in Rockefeller Center every year.

Then I became a princess who didnt want to deal with tourism and idiots.

So I said not today.

Spoiled brat alert!

Tonight I watched them ship that tree into Rockefeller Center.

It felt like a sacrificed lamb.

And I will be dead honest.

I don't know how to feel.

I am now thinking about Shel Silverstein once again and The Missing Piece and ofcourse, The Giving Tree.

I am also wondering how much I am missing.

From myself.

From the world.

Is it worth a hundred years of hard work to be admired more than any other tree for 3 months?

Or to live for another 100 uncovered, and unknown.

Relatively absent.

While also still providing a very im I important impact.

To be put in a beauty pageant you didn't sign up for, and win!

Or to grow old in a way no one notices or cares...

Or know that you are the lamb that will light up a million hearts for 3 months and create infinite happiness?

Or a tree that sheds its leaves and lends its shade in seasons that need it, while also providing cover.

Hell if I know.

Random thoughts.

Do we want to be revered or remembered.

Stable, or sensational.

Guess we will have to stay tuned.

But then again?

This analogy is quite simply life.

Xoxo,

C.
