Respect.

When respect dies, so does a relationship. Just like trust, when you no longer respect someone it is not said, but shown.

It is shown through deceit. Lies. Impersonation. Fraud. Total fiction.

In the process, pure destruction unveils its head.

Ripping through everything in its path, until there is nothing left.

The blame. The pain. The utter devastation. The insults. Being taken for granted. The lack of support.

The removal of empathy and sympathy.

The desire to annihilate.

The half truths. The outright lies.

The actuality of seeing that you do not matter, and most likely never did.

Being slowly chipped away at, until you vanish.

And when the fog clears it becomes apparent as day what has been going on. And you wonder if anything was true. You question it all.

You wonder if you deserved it. You ask how could this happen. Ask if you are truly to blame.

Then you say to yourself, hell no.

And you straighten your crown, put on some lipstick, and slay like the woman you are.

Respect.

Xoxo,

C.
