Delver.

I come from a long line of "delvers."

These are what I call a group of people, who plunge, head first, and, without one fuck given.

My people go all in.

If we are going to do something, we go big, or go home.

We DELVE in.

We are searchers.

Reachers.

Seekers.

Scourers.

Ultimately, achievers.

This quality tends to encompass all endeavors.

Whatever it is, we "delvers" seek to do, we DO.

Remember how I told you everyone in my family somehow (no, not somehow, my people, "delver's") possesses multiple degrees?

Yeah, that.

Yet, this trait can encompass both successes and mistakes.

I can personally say, I like to make the same mistake, numerous times, just to be sure.

"Delving" at its finest.

After taking my first jewelry class (I say FIRST, because I have already signed up for a SECOND one), That 'Alex and Ani' can take a back seat, once I figure out how to get my Etsy shop running, that is.

Did I mention I was a "delver?"

Now let me get deeper, here in lies the problems of a "delver."

The cons, if you will...

We love to run head first into many endeavors, but we may not always be the best at seeing how our objectives, or interests aren't always going to lead to the awesomeness we had hoped for.

It is within this process that can find those around us, in the cyclone of a "delving" session that can lead them to becoming disenchanted with the process, and ultimately, even us.

Enough about the negative though, us 'delvers' are mostly awesome.

So, now, here are the pros...

The beauty of a "delver?"

We give it our all.

Love, passion, experience, needs, urges, desires, wants...it is all or nothing.

If you have no idea what this means, please refer back to my travels with my children where I found myself to be the new Magellan.

I "delved" hard that trip.

Still waiting for the movie rights.

I will also add, anyone, who has ever traveled with me, knows it may their trip with me may as well be renamed a "Foust Vacation," because the Griswolds are continuing to have less and less on me as I get older.

Let me be honest, you can't even begin to imagine the stories of trips I have YET to tell you.

PRE-KIDS...

Hell...

Let's be truthful, WITH kids too...

The Pre kiddo trips...(Those stories will take some true courage)

Don't hold your breath.

I am waiting for some TMZ money for those.

Yet, I acknowledge openly, this particular quality, may not always translate as a good trait to some people.

100% isn't for everyone.

In fact, I will openly own, that my own "delving" has shot me down many a rabbit hole.

Some prettier than others.

But, for better or worse, when I like something, or find something interesting, I hurl myself in, without hesitation.

With blinders locked and loaded.

Mull this over...

How in the hell do we figure ourselves out?

How do we assess what we want?

What we should "delve" into?

Once we think we figure out our passions, our strengths, our wants, and our needs, our weaknesses?

Who ever did anything great by DIPPING their foot into the pond?

I will unapologetically "DELVE" into the subject by saying, NO ONE.

So for all my fellow "delvers"...

"Delve" away.

Xoxo,

C.
